Beliefs
The prophesied Messiah, our Lord and Savior. The one through which we live and move and have our being. He is the way, the truth, and the life, and the only way to the Father. We believe that Jesus Christ was fully man and fully God, was born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life. He died, was buried, resurrected, ascended, and now is seated at the Father’s right hand. We believe that Jesus paid the ransom for our sins so that we could be reconciled to God. Because of His blood and the repentance of sins, we can be free from the grip of death, hell, and the grave.
We believe that the whole Bible is the canonized, infallible word of God. It is God breathed “and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17). It is the light unto our path, and we strive to be a people who live according to the fullness of the word of God.
The Holy Spirit is the gift Jesus gave us when He ascended to the Father. He is our advocate, our helper, and our counselor. He empowers every believer, giving us the strength to live a life worthy of our calling. The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus to us and draws us to God the Father.
There is one God and Father of all who is over all, through all, and in all. We believe God is “I AM”. The Godhead is three in one: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All three are equally God.
We believe that all are inherently sinful and born into sin because of the fall of Adam. Sin separates us from God, and for those who do not accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, this separation is eternal. The penalty of sin is death, a price we all deserve to pay. But the blood of Jesus, the lamb of God, takes away the sin of the world for those who believe.
Because God so loved the world, He sent His one and only son, Jesus, to die on the cross. Jesus took our place on the cross. He paid the penalty of our sin with His blood. His perfect life was the perfect ransom. When we make Jesus the Lord of our lives– by confessing with our mouths that “JESUS IS LORD” and believing in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved. We beleive that we must work out our salvation with fear and trembling.
Baptism and communion are commands given to us by our Lord Jesus, and we practice them regularly.
The Table 61 is a prayer house and a parachurch organization that comes alongside and serves the local churches of our city. The local church is biblical and foundational in the Body of Christ. We believe that Jesus deeply loves the local church, and we desire to partner with His heart in serving the local church. As a prayer house, we exist to host the presence of God. We strive to maintain neutrality within denominationalism for the sake of unity. That the space we gather would be a place where we can come from all backgrounds and exalt the name of Jesus. We believe that this one thing, the gospel of Jesus Christ, is the glorious good news that unifies all denominations. We are the Bride of Christ and long to be made pure and spotless in light of His return. In the days of preparation, we hold fast to the John 17 cry for unity.
We embrace the harp and bowl style of worship as seen in Revelation 5:8. We steward the presence of God through songs of adoration and thankfulness while bringing intercession before the Lord. We beleive that the prayers of the righteous availth much and we desire to pray what is on God’s heart. Specifically, we have a burden to pray for our city, nation, and the nations. Our mission and ministry is to move the heart of God and create a place where the Son of Man can rest His head. We strive to be modern-day Levites, a people set apart for the Lord.
